What We Treat
Dr. Erickson specializes in traditional chiropractic techniques that treat various symptoms affecting the musculoskeletal system.
Our Methodology
His goal of treatment is to clear spinal subluxations to allow the body to heal naturally. A spinal subluxation is a misaligned vertebrae that causes pressure on the nervous system which impedes nerve signals to the brain and the body’s ability to heal. His diagnosis includes obtaining a medical/social history, assessment, treatment, and prevention of spine-related disorders.
Radiculopathies
A spinal subluxation causing pressure on the disc and nerve root resulting in numbness/tingling/weakness in the upper or lower extremity. Characteristically, these sensations travel past the knee or elbow resulting in burning nerve pain. In other words, these are a more severe form of nerve entrapment.
Sciatica
Impingement of the sciatic nerve in the lower lumbar nerve roots or chronic pressure on the piriformis muscle causing numbness & tingling in the glutes and hamstring. Typically only one-sided symptoms.
Athlete Injuries
Most commonly sprains & strains of the extremities. Chiropractic care can help speed up recovery of these injuries. Chronic injuries treated include: rotator cuff tears, knee injuries, and hip impingement.
Pregnancy
Gentle chiropractic care can be administered throughout all trimesters of pregnancy. Adjustments can help relieve symptoms of pressure from the expansion of the pelvis & sacroiliac joints. It is very safe to manipulate the spine without harming the child up until 38 weeks of pregnancy. Pre & postpartum care helps ease the stress on the joints of the mother and has proven to help make childbirth an easier experience.
Headaches/Migraines
Tension-type headaches resulting in bilateral pressure in the temples. Cervicogenic headaches usually originate at the base of the skull and can cause one sided pain and sometimes nausea. Migraines (usually hereditary) can be debilitating and usually result from triggers such as, stress, light, food sensitivity, & hormonal imbalances. These are all treatable with consistent and frequent adjustments targeting specific levels of the cervical spine. Chiropractic is clinically proven to be one of the top treatments for all types of headaches.
Acute/Chronic Lower back pain
This is the most common cause why patients seek out a chiropractor. The lumbar spine is where posture, pressure, and pre-existing traumas most commonly occur. Routine chiropractic adjustments allow for the mechanical correction of the vertebrae. Post-treatment results include: increased range of motion, reduced inflammation & pain, and an overall better quality of life.
